Now accepting proposals for 2026 Reading Circle Leaders!
BECOME A READING CIRCLE LEADER!
In a field where burnout is common and connection is rare, Therapist Book Huddles invite therapists to slow down, engage deeply with meaningful books, and rediscover the professional community we all need to thrive.
Are you a highly seasoned therapist—perhaps certified, published, or lead trainings in a specialized modality?
If you bring depth of experience and a passion for your craft, becoming a Huddle Leader allows you to guide thoughtful discussions that both challenge and inspire your colleagues who have a desire to connect, learn, and grow.
BECOME A FOUNDING READING CIRCLE LEADER!
Circle Leaders facilitate small, book-centered discussion groups known as Therapist Reading Circles. Each Huddle explores a clinical or professional development book over a 13-week period, fostering growth, connection, and inspiration among peers.
Have you reached a season in your career where you want to give back—or pay it forward?
Are you looking for something that balances your clinical work, reduces professional isolation, brings fresh energy to your practice, and allows you to make a meaningful impact in a creative and fulfilling way?
If you’ve ever wanted to guide meaningful conversations about the books that shape our field, this is your opportunity to share your expertise and help set the tone for this new professional community.
How Circle Leaders Are Selected
We review proposals using this considerations:
Clinical alignment & depth: Your expertise with the book’s topic/modality and how you’ll translate it into practice
Program balance: Priority for titles/subjects not already scheduled in the same quarter
Market fit: Demonstrated interest (waitlist signals, time slot fit), clarity of outline, and group logistics
Leader readiness: Clear plan for discussion flow, boundaries, and tech setup
Submission timeliness

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺
-
Select a book you know well and feel confident guiding others through—ideally one that aligns with your areas of advanced training, certification, or significant clinical experience.
-
The length of the book will help you to determine how many times the Huddle would benefit from meeting.
Choose a certain number of chapters to read per meeting, your ideal group size or range, how long you want each meeting to last, and the best dates to suit your schedule.
The dates do not need to be consecutive or span the entire 3 months, however it’s helpful to offer the same day of week and time of day.
-
Huddle Leaders set their ideal price point, factoring in how many group members they want, the length of time of each meeting, their expertise level, etc.
Some other factors to consider…
Registrants either pay the cost of the Huddle monthly x3 months OR receive a 10% discount by paying in full at time of registration.
Think about your ideal income goal, the minimum amount needed to lead the Huddle, and complete your Leader Proposal accordingly.
Be sure to factor in the revenue split of 70/30 (Huddle Leader/TBH).
For reference, as a certified IFS therapist (not a trainer, speaker, or author), I have charged $55/meeting for Huddles reading No Bad Parts (about IFS) by Dick Schwartz. There was no revenue split.
-
The revenue split is 70/30, 70% of the registration fees going to the Huddle Leader and 30% to Therapist Book Huddles. TBH absorbs the full expense of payment processing fees.

Leader Payment Policy
Therapist Book Huddles manages all participant registrations, payment processing, and refunds. Huddle Leaders are compensated after participant payments have cleared and refund periods have ended.
To ensure both fairness and financial stability, Leader payments are distributed in three stages each quarter:
1. First Advance Payment (25%)
Once a Huddle reaches its confirmed minimum enrollment and participant payments are current, Leaders receive an initial payment of 25% of projected Huddle earnings. This payment is issued within ten (10) business days after the group’s start date.2. Mid-Quarter Payment (25%)
A second payment of 25% of projected earnings is issued around the midpoint of the quarter (approximately four to five weeks into the session), provided all participant payments remain up to date.3. Final Payment (Remaining Balance)
The remaining balance (typically 50%) is paid within ten (10) business days after the close of the Huddle quarter, once all participant payments have been completed and any applicable refunds have been processed. If a participant withdraws, receives a refund, or has a failed payment, the Leader’s final payout will be adjusted accordingly.
This schedule provides predictable income for Leaders while ensuring that all payments are backed by cleared participant funds.

This detail is still being sorted out for the Founding Cohort and final decisions will be influenced by Huddle Leader feedback.
An option being strongly considered is Stripe Connect. Huddle Leaders would complete Stripe Connect’s onboarding form (bank info + W-9) and payout would go straight to their bank account. There are no required fees to the Huddle Leader except for a nominal amount (I believe 0.25% + currency conversion) for international transactions.
Stripe Connect automatically generates 1099-K forms for connected accounts when applicable.
Other payment options may include PayPal, ACH transfer, or a mailed check.
